LPGA star Donna Andrews has joined the Pine Needles teaching staff and will be an instructor at the resort’s popular
Golfaris this year.

She will continue to play on the tour on a part-time basis, according to Pine Needles president and CEO Kelly Miller.

A Southern Pines resident, the 36-year-old Andrews will join an all-star cast of instructors at the state’s premier golf school,
including school founder Peggy Kirk Bell, Director of Instruction Pat McGowan and Michael Hebron, one of the nation’s top-
rated teachers.

“We welcome Donna to Pine Needles,” Miller said. “She is an excellent player and teacher and will be a vital part of our golf
schools and our staff.”

Miller said Andrews would play in a handful of LPGA events that didn’t conflict with the instructional program and
promotional projects.

A Virginia native, Andrews was a five-time winner of the Virginia State Amateur championship. She won the prestigious
North and South amateur title in 1984 and 1988 and was runner up in 1989. She received All-America honors as a member
of the University of North Carolina team in 1989.

As a professional, Andrews won six events, including one major title: the Nabisco Dinah Shore in 1994. She placed third in
the 1992 US Women’s Open and tied for second a year later. She played on two Curtis Cup teams.

She had four top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour in 2002. Her best finish last year was a tie for seventh in the Canadian Open.

Andrews has served on the LPGA Executive Committee since 2001 and is president of the group. In addition to golf, she is
an avid horsewoman.
